on parish street at the moment, my childhood etched into the sidewalks.
those are mean clouds. Sitting here at Starbucks just before Gorman and the overpass into LA.
My first breakfast in SF →
Absolutely spellbinding. Service, and the yumminess of these ginger- cinammon pancakes surpassed my expectations. The only drawback was that Dottie’s True Blue Café was in a seedy part of the town, the area on the borderline of the tenderloin.

This sign was posted outside a Safeway supermarket in Fisherman’s Wharf. What is it there for? I for my part defied the warning and bought my tortilla chips.
sitting inside Tully’s café in Corte Madera. Best place to be if you don’t want to get wet. In half an hour lunch at Carms.
After some serious shopping here in downtown SF I feel very tired, damn jetlag. And it stopped raining.
sitting in Starbucks with a pre-breakfast café latte. Heading for main breakfast in 10 min.
Got up at 4AM here in the hotel. It’s cold.

So here I am, up in the sky, thanks to the density of air and other important physical effects. Thank you United for providing me with a comfortable seat in the very last row - 61B - with a congenial, low-key Swede as my sole neighbour. If I an a good judge I would say that the plane has...
The interior looks as if it could use some remodeling, its vintage 80s. Looked the same 10 years ago.

Selling gigantic foccacio down here, measured by the square meter. Would make a lovely carpet.
Down in the basement of the airport. Eating a snack. Acoustics down here are such that I can easily follow the conversation 5 seats away.
Sunny weather here in Frankfurt, on the bus taking me to the airport. The airport is a giant compared with the midget inTegel.
waiting for the plane to start to Frankfurt. Already missing my kids.
preparing my last gulash before the trip, my last supper so to speak. Preoccupied with travel carry-on, am I overloaded?
waiting to get my intern. driving permit here in Kreuzberg. My current one went through too many wash cycles.
About to get a prep talk about child development here at the Waldorf school. Hopefully I won’t fall asleep

Glad I thought about buying cottage cheese today, I’m usually a bit amnesic about it. That’s why I only have it twice a year
the 188 bus into my quaint suburbia after xmas-recalling on the KuDamm
“out” translates to “pit” in iPhone-speak, geez
I have finally come up with a name for the way I will plan and carry pit my upcoming trip to California: “network-centric rambling”
Feel cramped like an eel, pardon, Unagi, in my local sushi joint. Making a mental note not to come after 1 o’clock.
After the castle we descended to Cafe Vetter, one of those traditional style cafés for cake and coffee
just arrived back fromm a Visit to the Marburg Castle. It was freezing cold. Afterwards we made a vwrt
